Cala Santanyi

Cala Santanyí is a small tourist resort built around the cove here; most of the buildings here are houses, with a few tourist apartments and hotels. The development of the resort began at the end of the 1960s, without any defined project being followed. In 1663 the tower of Torre Nova de la Roca Fesa was built in order to guard and protect the coast from attacks by pirates from North Africa.

The Cala Santanyí beach, is 80 m long and 130 m wide, has calm waters and is ideal for swimming. Some high-rise hotels and tourist apartments have been built next to the beach, making it crowded in summer months. Es Pontàs - mentioned in the description of Cala Llombards - can be reached from this beach by turning right as you go out to sea. There is ample parking near the beach.

Cala Llombards

Cala Llombarts is a small tourist resort which was developed from 1969 onwards. It is situated around the cove of Cala Llombarts and mainly comprises houses.

The Cala Llombards beach, is 45 m long and 130 m wide, has fine white sand and is kept in good condition. Around Cala Llombards a quiet residential area has been built, which is well integrated into the landscape and which doesn´t make the beach too crowded, even during high season. By the shore there are some ´escars´, which are traditional buildings used by Mallorcan fishermen to keep their boats and their fishing tackle. Away from this beach, out to sea on the left, there is a little isle in the shape of an arc, which is known as Es Pontàs.
