This is the area of the region which is closets to Palma, the capital of Majorca. It boasts an excellent hotel infrastructure of the highest level, which makes it the chosen destination for many companies for their meetings and incentive trips. Its coast is dotted with small, beautiful coves and three small islands: sa Torre, S´Estenedor or des Pas and sa Caleta, which are given the collective name of Ses Illetes. Opposite the bay there is a military fort from the end of the nineteenth century, a clear reference to the military architecture of the island. Another reference is the defence tower located on Ses Illetes, which was originally a signal tower, integrated into the observation system which ran along the entire Calvià coastline.
The Passeig Calvià begins in Cas Català , the green lung of the region: a pedestrian walkway which unites the different towns of the region, covering some 32 kilometres.
